Supra HD7 – HD multimedia multipurpose A/V cable with Ethernet connection
DVI (Digital Visual Interface) is a standard for digital picture and video transmissions between e.g. computers, screens and projectors. It included also support for HDCP video encyption and defines input/output protocols for major 3D video formats, paving the way for true 3D gaming and 3D home cinema applications. SUPRA HD7 high performance DVI dual link cable is specially designed for digital high bandwidth transfer up to 30m. Screen resolution support of 3840 x 2400 @ 33 fps (Hz), 2560 x 1600 @ 60 fps (Hz) and 2560 x 1440 @ 60 fps (Hz), makes it suitable for new generation > 27 inch computer screens, set new standard of both picture quality and cable design.
The HD7 cable conductors are insulated with air-injected PE foam for lowest capacitance and highest velocity factor (0.8 x speed of light) giving digital square wave rise time very close to the ideal; from 0 to 1 and back again instantly. The digital pairs have a precise and stable impedance over all working frequencies a property crucial in any digital circuit for not causing jitter. Individual screened pairs are twisted with different directions of the pitches in order to minimise crosstalk. The cable is triple-shielded, the most sensitive conductors are separately screened. In addition, all conductors are protected with a common, double shield of aluminized PET foil and a 5N purity copper braid, which provides highly efficient shielding over a wide band of electro-magnetic interference (EMI, RFI).
The cable is best equipped with our Supra DVI 24K gold plated connectors, a fully shielded contact housing made of aluminium to further avoid signal degradation. The connector is rewireable to enable mounting after cable installation in walls or conduits, tubing, trunking, etc. Since the contact housing is possible to disassemble, the DVI contact body is possible to route in a large enough conduit provided that the fragile leads kan be covered and NO traction force is applied to the contact housing itself. The gold plating of the pins is as thick as 0.8 microns for long service life connection quality also with frequent re-connections.

High resolution picture
We often meet scepticism when we talk about digital multimedia cables. ”Does it really matter?” ”I mean, it’s only a data stream?” Yes, it is a stream of digital bits. And, yes, it does matter. When a cable is so poor that the picture blanks out, does not sync, you immediately notice something is wrong. Unfortunately there is an intermediate state before the signal is so corrupt it cannot be read and blanks out. Many claim that if the screen shows, the signal is good enough. There is circuitry in the receiver which tries to repair broken data stream by buffering and error correction, but this is based on best possible estimates and is not necessarily what was sent. Further, if there is time, the data protocoll allows for calling for re-submission of missing bitstreams. If there is time … You might experience sync problems (delays), distorted colorations insufficient blackness and/or other artefacts during which the hardware is working overtime trying to repair the fragile bitstream. Do your precious hardware the best possible favour you can by connecting it using SUPRA HD multimedia cables and both you and your equipment will fully enjoy the show.
