The team at Marantz took great care to ensure the AV8805’s construction resulted in the best possible result when it came to unaltered movie and music playback. They have achieved this through the implementation of a highly rigid base – included as a foundation for all of the unit’s circuit boards carrying the sensible audio signal – in order to eradicate the chance of microphonic effects through unwanted vibrations.
An oversized toroidal transformer within the Marantz AV8805 has been included in order to feed the big main capacitors and is set on an extra 5mm aluminium pedestal to achieve greater stability. All electronic components are supported by the copper plating on the main chassis. This copper plating will guarantee only the best ground connection at any point, and will improve Signal to Noise behaviour significantly. A total of seventeen single board HDAM modules have been used within this Pre-Amplifier in order to produce perfect channel separation for a reference-setting audio performance. And to finish it off, everything within the AV8805 is covered well by a heavy top lid that has been constructed using three pieces.
